The Pajama Game plyed to standing-room-only crowds.
The story was a factory union's struggle for a seven and a half cent raise
against a stubborn boss. Pat Barrow and Anne Johnson performed the
lead roles of Sid Sorokin, the new plant supervisor, and Babe Williams,
the head of the grievance committee. The two, fighting between each
other in the factory, fall in love.
David Dougherty played the factory's efficiency expert, Professor Vernon Hines, continually jealous of Kathy Redgate as Gladys, the voloptuous head secretary. Cindy Strickland played Mabel the experienced secretary. Bill Silvia performed the part of the woman-chasing Prez, the president of the union, while Courtie Roach played Old Man Hasler, the stubborn and mean boss. Teresa McMahon played Mae, the outspoken factory worker. This play was directed by Jim Ascoli, with stage manager Julie Galin and assistant stage manager Lynn Truchon. Music was provided by members of the MHS band, including Charles Jestings, Boyd Morse, Karen Smith, and Kevin Zahm. Please e-mail me if you know who else played for this production, or if you can identify anyone labelled "?" in the pictures below. |
