Cinderella - December 1971

Director's Note: Everything you see on the stage today is representative of a new kind of theatre on Aquidneck Island -- A Children's theatre run only by high school and junior high school students for the purpose of dramatic experience and community contribution on their part. Many hours of work have gone into Cinderella and many people have given generously of their time. To thank individuals who have been part of the production would be impossible. I should begin, of course, with the talented group who comprise cast and crew, the Workshop members, the officials of the Middletown School system, the MHS Art Department, and other members of the community who have lent their assistance. My appreciation is sincere to all. There are five, however, to whom my personal and individual thanks must be expressed. Kathy Smith, the choreographer and dance director; Dee Walsh, our spiritual advisor; Mr. Gaudet, Middletown School Superintendent; Tom Erb, our flat builder; and Elizabeth Westneat, business manager. The evidence of their work will be onstage during the play. Without them Cinderella would have been impossible to produce -- and direct.
